Gandhi & his March to the Sea for Salt… What is Our Symbol Today?

When Gandhi marched the Indians to the sea to get their own salt and avoid the British tax on salt.  The British beat the Indians down… Gandhi was very clear not to fight back but still to stand strong as peaceful warriors holding their moral and ethical ground.  They embarrassed the British into leaving the country less then 1 year later… The British understood that their time there was over… the British were no longer welcome…

Well I am not sure when our government became the enemy of the people but with all that is going on it would seem that the government is definitely not looking out for our / Main Street interests.  Our government has been asleep at the wheel for 8 years now giving us the wrong information…

Our leadership has been pushing the concept of Happiness through consumption instead of through service as well as thoughts of creating fear by chasing security… scaring us at every opportunity, in every speech!
We should instead understand what Benjamin Franklin professed with “if we forgo liberty for security we deserve neither“!

So the BIG QUESTION of BIG MIND is what are the symbols we as a free people use in this day and age to reflect, what is going on in our government is NOT OK… How do we empower our selves and our message to get back to the original intention of…. We hold these truths to be self evident, the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness….

I love that this Iraqi reporter expressed in a moment of peaceful fearless disregard for his own safety what most of us would have liked to … he has created a Tiananmen Square moment in history… We need to follow his ambitious lead to free speech for that is where freedom and liberty are found.  Remember he threw a shoe not a bomb.  We all know how disgusting and lawless our administration has behaved, torture, no oversight, etc…  They have brought us to the abyss!  What do we do now to take a stand and begin the healing of our fragile and injured planet and people?

Please share your thoughts and ideas here as comments… We need to begin a dialogue on the internet of collective consciousness! We need to figure out what our march to the sea is and how we can peacefully and forcefully get the message across that what is going on is NOT OK!  We need to get back to the intention of what a patriot is and what it is to be an American as well as a global citizen!
