ı read it some where and wanted to share it :))yes by the way also ı believe that everythin right now is perfect .Paradox:))what odo you think?
Arthur Klein at 8:56am December 26
perfection is intrinsically subjective… I believe things are both perfect in the moment and imperfect in the bigger picture of time; which is perfect in itself…
So you can be present in the perfection of the moment and motivated to positively move forward through time and space adjusting the experience toward perfection in every moment as it unfolds!  What do you think?

“paradox of our time”: a message from someone kool!

CORRECTION:

Although George Carlin is attributed
to the following quote….
Here is the link to a story about the actual origin

www.snopes.com:
Either way it is filled with great contemplations of our life and times.

George Carlin shows us ... Ourselves
George Carlin shows us … Ourselves

Not A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints.

We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less.
We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time.
We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.
We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life.
We’ve added years to life not life to years.
We’ve been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor.

We’ve conquered outer space but not inner space.
We’ve done larger things, but not better things.
We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.
We’ve conquered the atom, but not our prejudice.

We write more, but learn less.
We plan more, but accomplish less.
We’ve learned to rush, but not to wait.
We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships.  These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes.

These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom.  A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete…

  • Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.
  • Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.
  • Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn’t cost a cent.
  • Remember, to say, ‘I love you’ to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.
  • Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.
  • Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

If you don’t send this to other people….Who cares?

Not George Carlin

Thank you Lisa for sending me this wonderful message this morning!

Gandhi & his March to the Sea for Salt… What is Our Symbol Today?

When Gandhi marched the Indians to the sea to get their own salt and avoid the British tax on salt.  The British beat the Indians down… Gandhi was very clear not to fight back but still to stand strong as peaceful warriors holding their moral and ethical ground.  They embarrassed the British into leaving the country less then 1 year later… The British understood that their time there was over… the British were no longer welcome…

Well I am not sure when our government became the enemy of the people but with all that is going on it would seem that the government is definitely not looking out for our / Main Street interests.  Our government has been asleep at the wheel for 8 years now giving us the wrong information…

Our leadership has been pushing the concept of Happiness through consumption instead of through service as well as thoughts of creating fear by chasing security… scaring us at every opportunity, in every speech!
We should instead understand what Benjamin Franklin professed with “if we forgo liberty for security we deserve neither“!

So the BIG QUESTION of BIG MIND is what are the symbols we as a free people use in this day and age to reflect, what is going on in our government is NOT OK… How do we empower our selves and our message to get back to the original intention of…. We hold these truths to be self evident, the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness….

I love that this Iraqi reporter expressed in a moment of peaceful fearless disregard for his own safety what most of us would have liked to … he has created a Tiananmen Square moment in history… We need to follow his ambitious lead to free speech for that is where freedom and liberty are found.  Remember he threw a shoe not a bomb.  We all know how disgusting and lawless our administration has behaved, torture, no oversight, etc…  They have brought us to the abyss!  What do we do now to take a stand and begin the healing of our fragile and injured planet and people?

Please share your thoughts and ideas here as comments… We need to begin a dialogue on the internet of collective consciousness! We need to figure out what our march to the sea is and how we can peacefully and forcefully get the message across that what is going on is NOT OK!  We need to get back to the intention of what a patriot is and what it is to be an American as well as a global citizen!

in Peace with light & Love,

Arthur

Our lives, our past and our future are tied to the sun, the moon and the stars… We humans have seen the atoms which constitute all of nature and the forces that sculpted this work… and we, who embody the local eyes and ears and thoughts and feelings of the cosmos, have begun to wonder about our origins… star stuff contemplating the stars, organized collections of ten billion billion billion atoms, contemplating the evolution of nature, tracing that long path by which it arrived at consciousness here on the planet earth… Our loyalties are to the species and to the planet. Our obligation to survive and flourish is owed not just to ourselves but also to that cosmos ancient and vast from which we spring.

911 one survivors story…. SO WE NEVER FORGET

World Trade Center Sunrise

World Trade Center Sunrise

Two days after September 11, 2001, I received the following email forwarded by a friend of a friend who escaped the collapse of World Trade Center Tower 1.

After reading this amazing story I forwarded it to a bunch of people, and then left work in the middle of the day and went to a yoga class. I thought it was a good way to begin the process to regain a sense of peace and wellbeing.

The yoga helped, so I have been practicing yoga most every day since then. My intention is to share my yoga experience with anyone who is interested. Please join me as another peaceful warrior whose intention is to do my part in healing our fragile and injured planet.

The following email exchange is where my journey began and what inspired the creation of Y Yoga Movie.

I share with you my reflection of that day 7 years later.

In peace,
Arthur

Subject: one survivors story…. SO WE NEVER FORGET.

I am sure that this is one of thousands of stories that will emerge over the next several days and weeks. I arrived as usual a little before 8am. My office was on the 87th floor of 1 World Trade Center, AKA: Tower 1, AKA: the North Tower. Most of my associates were in by 8:30m. We were standing around, joking around, eating breakfast, checking emails, and getting set for the day when the first plane hit just a few stories above us. I must stress that we did not know that it was a plane. The building lurched violently and shook as if it were an earthquake. People screamed. I watched out my window as the building seemed to move 10 to 20 feet in each direction. It rumbled and shook long enough for me to get my wits about myself and grab a co-worker and seek shelter under a doorway. Light fixtures and parts of the ceiling collapsed. The kitchen was destroyed. We were certain that it was a bomb. We looked out the windows. Reams of paper were flying everywhere, like a ticker tape parade. I looked down at the street. I could see people in Battery Park City looking up. Smoke started billowing in through the holes in the ceiling.

I believe that there were 13 of us.  We did not panic. I can only assume that we thought that the worst was over. The building was standing and we were shaken but alive. We checked the halls. The smoke was thick and white and did not smell like I imagined smoke should smell. Not like your BBQ or your fireplace or even a bonfire. The phones were working. My wife had taken our 9 month old for his check up. I called my nanny at home and told her to page my wife, tell her that a bomb went off, I was ok, and on my way out. I grabbed my laptop. Took off my tee shirt and ripped it into 3 pieces. Soaked it in water. Gave 2 pieces to my friends. Tied my piece around my face to act as an air filter. And we all started moving to the staircase.

Yoga & the original American Spirit

Y Yoga Movie frame Time Square US Flag

Y Yoga Movie frame Time Square US Flag

Practicing yoga in the United States of America today, feels like the essence of breathing life liberty and pursuing happiness.

What i hear from our president elect is very yogic, very Gandhi,  Bhakti and  Raja…. “Yes we can!” and “Change we can believe in!” sounds a great deal like “Be the change you would like to see in the world.”
– Gandhi

This is in contrast to the charge of our last 8 years of leadership… The suggestion that we consume for the good of the country and for our own happiness … The repeated suggestions of our being very afraid and how we need to invest all our money time and energy to chase after security…  I submit, security is unobtainable since it is an abstract concept based on fear … and will eventually bankrupt us as a society.

Why have these been the intentions that have been reinforced by the Bush administration.    When did government become the enemy of the people … and to the peoples’ unalienable Rights to … Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

How about we consider just these 2 shifts

  1. What if we shift our intention of Happiness through Service instead of consumption.
  2. What if we followed Benjamin Franklin’s sage advise, “if you forgo liberty for security you deserve neither.”

If we look back at our Declaration of Independence it has so many references to very yogic ideals to the original idea of being an American…

Standing up for what is right.  Doing well by being good.

As an American who loves his practice of yoga I want to send this message of love, light, peace and hope to all of you on this unique Thanksgiving as we focus our intention to a future where all beings are Happy.
And may our happiness come from healing our fragile and injured planet.

in peace, with love,
namasté,

Arthur
